Privacy policy
Last updated October 10, 2026.
This page explains what TireShopper.com collects when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it small on purpose: no accounts, no ad tracking unless you allow it, and no sale of personal information.
What we collect
Retailer link clicks
When you click a retailer button, we record the page you were on (its path), which retailer you chose, the tire size and vehicle ids on that page if any, and the time. Our database does not store your IP address, name or email with this record. Obvious bots are not counted.
Visits from our social posts
If you arrive from a link in one of our TikTok, Instagram or YouTube posts, the link carries a short code. We record which post and platform it came from, the page you landed on (its path) and the time. Our database does not store your IP address, browser details, the site you came from, or any cookie or identifier with this record. Obvious bots are not counted.
Our tire size widget on other sites
When another website shows our tire size lookup widget, we record that website's domain name, and keep running counts of how often the widget loads there and how often its links are used, with the time last seen. We do not record anything about the person viewing the widget: no IP address, browser details, cookie or identifier.
Email signups
If you sign up for rebate alerts and seasonal reminders, we store your email address, the page you signed up on (its path), the time you agreed, and a version number for the wording you agreed to. We have not started sending emails yet. Signing up twice with the same address stores it once.
Your cookie choice
We set one first-party cookie, ts_consent, that remembers your cookie choices (analytics, advertising) and when you made them. It lasts 12 months. It is needed to honor your choice, so it is not optional.
Page-view analytics (only if you allow)
If you allow analytics, we use Vercel Analytics to count page views. It counts visits without using cookies. If you do not allow it, it does not load. [review with counsel]
Ads (only if you allow)
The site is built to show ads, but ads are off. If we turn them on, ad code loads only after you allow advertising, and this page will be updated first to name the ad provider and what it collects. [review with counsel]
Server logs
Our hosting provider, Vercel, handles each request to the site and may process technical data such as IP address and browser type to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not store that data in our own database. [review with counsel]
How we use it
- Click records show which pages and retailers are useful, and which clicks may earn us a commission.
- Your email is used for the emails you agreed to, and nothing else.
- Analytics page views show which pages people use.
Who processes it
We use two service providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting and, if you allow it, analytics) and Supabase (our database, where click records and email signups are stored).
When you click a retailer link you leave this site. The retailer has its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies.
We do not sell your personal information.
Our social media accounts
TireShopper connects only its own TikTok, YouTube and Instagram accounts, so it can publish its own videos. When we connect one of our accounts, we store an access token, the account's public username and the permissions granted. Tokens are encrypted and used only to publish our videos and check on them. We do not collect data about other people who use these platforms, and we do not sell or share platform data.
YouTube: we use YouTube API Services to upload videos to our own channel. See the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Access can be removed at any time in your Google Account third-party access settings.
Instagram data deletion: disconnecting an account in our admin page, or removing our app under Instagram Settings, Apps and websites, deletes the stored tokens. We keep no other Instagram data.
Your choices
Cookies. You can change your cookie choices at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. If you turn analytics off, it takes effect from the next page load; a page that is already open keeps running until you load another.
Unsubscribe or delete. To unsubscribe, or to ask us to delete your email address or any other information we hold about you, email hello@tireshopper.com. Tell us the address to remove. We will reply to confirm. [review with counsel: how fast, and how we verify the request]
Your rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to how it is used. To make a request, email hello@tireshopper.com. [review with counsel: which rights apply and how we respond]
How long we keep it
We keep click records and email signups until we decide to delete them or you ask us to. [retention period to be decided by the site owner; review with counsel]
Children
The site is for adults who buy tires. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has given us their email address, contact us and we will delete it. [review with counsel]
Security
Our database is not open to the public: signups and click records are written only by our server. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We will change this page if what we collect changes, and update the date at the top. If the change is material, we will say so on the site. [review with counsel]
